The people behind the frames
Lumière is a small Lagos studio with one conviction: the best photograph in any room is the one that still makes you feel something in thirty years.
Hi, I'm Amara Eze — founder, lead photographer, and the person who will remind you to breathe.
Lumière started in 2019 with a borrowed camera and a stubborn idea: that photographs should sound like the day felt, not like the mood board looked. The first clients were friends. Then friends of friends. Then, somewhere around the two hundredth shoot, strangers began flying us to their weddings, and the borrowed camera became a studio.
Today we're a team of three — two photographers and a producer — shooting weddings, portraits, brands and events across four continents. We work small on purpose. Every gallery is edited by the same hands that shot it, every album is sequenced like a short film, and nobody on your wedding day will ever wonder who the photographer is talking to on the phone.
When we're not shooting for clients we're shooting for ourselves — long-term portrait projects, mountains at dawn, and an ever-growing archive of Lagos street life that will one day become a very heavy book.

2019
First paid shoot
A friend's engagement session in Yaba, shot on a borrowed camera with one battery. The couple still books us yearly.
2020
Lumière Studio is born
Registered the studio, bought the first full-frame body, and turned a spare bedroom into an editing cave.
2021
First destination wedding
Accra, then Nairobi three months later. The passport pages start filling up.
2022
The studio space
Moved into a daylight studio in Victoria Island — one wall of glass, one wall of prints.
2024
Editorial recognition
The Quiet Hours portrait series is exhibited and featured across three photography publications.
2026
Shooting worldwide
A team of three, five hundred shoots in, and a calendar that now spans four continents.
