Case Study — weddings
Kite Season
A destination elopement on the Cape peninsula — two people, two witnesses, one mountain, and weather that changed its mind hourly.
Sarah and Emeka eloped with eight guests and asked us to travel with them. Destination work is forecasting work: we built three route plans around the peninsula and let the morning's clouds choose between them.
The ceremony happened in a wind so strong the officiant laughed through half of it. Instead of fighting the weather we photographed it — the veil horizontal, everyone's hair wrecked, the two of them completely unbothered.
Their gallery mixes the vows with the road-trip frames around them: petrol stations, padkos, the mountain appearing and disappearing. It reads like a short film about a very good decision.
We gave them wind, chaos and a nine-hour day. They gave us the most beautiful photographs either of our families has ever seen.
