A documentary family session shot over one ordinary Sunday — pancakes, board games, an argument about board games, and a nap.
The Nwosus didn't want a matching-outfits-on-a-beach session. They wanted their actual life: four kids, one kitchen, a grandmother who narrates everything. So we spent a Sunday with them, from pancake batter at 9am to the last bedtime story.
Documentary family work means becoming furniture. For the first hour everyone performs a little; by the second hour nobody cares you're there, and that's when the real pictures happen — the middle daughter reading under the table, dad losing at Ludo with tremendous grace.
The family chose 80 frames for a printed album. Grandma requested — and received — a framed print of herself winning.
We forgot she was in the house by mid-morning. The photos look like our life because for one Sunday she lived it with us.
